PACKABLE, ULTRALIGHT BACKPACKER PRO FLOAT TUBE
WEIGHS JUST 3.4 POUNDS & FITS IN A 9 LITER COMPACT STUFF SACK
Some claim to offer "ultralight" float tubes "light enough to pack into high-mountain lakes", but those tubes are HEAVY & bulky at 7 or more pounds, twice the weight of the patent pending Wilderness Lite Backpacker Pro float tube. The patent pending Backpacker Pro easily fits into a 15" long x 7" diameter Wilderness Lite custom mesh stuff sack. We've routinely backpacked on weeklong journeys to get to fish and fly fish above 7,000 foot elevation many miles from the trailhead with the ultralight Wilderness Lite Backpacker Pro!
A customer emphasized the ultralight pack-ability of the Backpacker Pro..."I needed to go lighter, & smaller. So I sold my Trinity float tube and picked up a Wilderness Lite Backpacker Pro. My float tube kit is now just a hair over 6 lbs and that includes pump, waders, neoprene socks, 7 oz BRIGHT red Sockwa high top beach volleyball shoes, and full foot backpacking fins. The tube easily but snugly fits in a 10 liter mesh stuff sack. The other soft gear fits in a 3 liter stuff sack. I netted and released around 30 Brookies on trips over the summer to Seven Lakes Basin and the Glacier View Wilderness. I am very pleased."
Improved from the legendary Wood River V boat float tubes, the highly maneuverable Wilderness Lite Backpacker Pro offers the same hydrodynamic V boat handling, but significantly lighter weight. Now available for order and immediate shipment, the 3.4 pound Backpacker Pro...LIGHTER, BETTER! The Backpacker Pro has all the optimal performance and features of earlier models, but is 7 oz lighter. The Backpacker Pro now also includes a 1.7 oz custom mesh stuff sack and a 3.6 oz double action inflation pump together with the reinforced seat and non-slip seat pad for greater comfort and stability.
KEEPS HANDS FREE FOR FISHING & NEEDS NO PADDLES OR OARS
Unlike a raft that requires paddles or oars, the Backpacker Pro enables you to fish constantly with both hands available for your fly or fishing rod and line while your legs & feet provide propulsion and steering to get you and keep you exactly where you want to fish. Stay ready at all times to cast to the next rise without delay!
Most float tubes are made in China. Not the Backpacker Pro. The Backpacker Pro and Wilderness Lite replacement bladders are Made in the USA! American made of durable materials with excellent, quality craftsmanship to provide years of performance. One customer recently posted on a You Tube review, "How has it held up after a year and a half? No problems at all. Still looks like new, holds air perfectly, no holes, rips, punctures or tears. Stitching still intact, welds on the bladder look as new. Fished Mammoth Lakes for a week pretty hard. I don't see why it won't last for years."
PROPRIETARY INFLATABLE BLADDERS
The bladder is the heart of a float tube. The bladder shape, material, and method of construction determine weight, performance, and durability of the float tube. For the Backpacker Pro, Wilderness Lite uses only V shaped bladders with a slightly elevated prow to cut through wind and water for ease of steering and maximum speed with minimum leg paddling effort. The proprietary design of the American made Wilderness Lite inflatable bladder in the Backpacker Pro combines V shaped performance with unique materials and methods of construction to deliver ultralight weight and unmatched durability. The same materials and manufacturing process are used to manufacture life vests for military aviators! The Wilderness Lite inflatable bladder weighs a mere 19 ounces compared to commonly used PVC bladders weighing 48 ounces or more.
